Les Systèmes Modulaires LR4 Inc. (formerly Modular LED Systems in California) is a company that designs, manufactures, provides expertise in, converts, and repairs high-performance LED lighting fixtures, both in small volumes and custom-made, for specific applications requiring personalized features.

Over the years, product brands such as LR4 Products, The Big Yellow LED, and Professional Marine Lighting have been created for specific markets, always designed and manufactured in Quebec on a small scale.

Following requests from several clients, alliances and partnerships have been established with international suppliers to provide larger quantities of lighting fixtures more quickly for applications requiring less customization. LR4 has also become a manufacturer's agent and distributor for certain product lines, AIKO Québec and B2L Lighting, which have been adapted for the Quebec and Canadian markets. These products offer very high-end solutions that exceed industry standards for the heavy industry lighting market (quarries, mines, petrochemicals, metallurgy, aerospace, rail, and marine), specialized lighting for hazardous areas, temporary/construction site lighting, highway lighting, and professional sports lighting.

Within each of our different brands and product lines, there are products designed for outdoor use, often larger, more powerful, and therefore heavier, and others designed for indoor installation. In some cases, depending on the analysis of parameters and lighting requirements, an outdoor product can be used indoors, such as our explosion-proof series. However, the reverse is less common, as not all indoor products are waterproof or designed to withstand harsh weather conditions.

Most of our high-performance LED luminaires can be ordered for 110 VAC, 220 VAC, or 347 VAC power. The electronic transformer will vary depending on the power supply and the desired lighting output. Some units come with a power switch, allowing the installer to select the appropriate current.

Faulty lighting fixtures are often low-end products, rarely suited to Quebec's electrical supply and climate, or to the intended use. The market offers LED products with very short lifespans, which some buyers overlook. We prioritize LED products with a tested lifespan of 50,000 hours or more for multi-LED fixtures, and up to 200,000 hours for our COB luminaires.

It's important to understand that there are several types of components and manufacturing methods, and that key elements, including proper heat dissipation and adequate ventilation, can help maintain lighting quality and extend the lifespan of the light source and other components.

A product that is half the price but needs to be replaced 2, 3 or 4 times, when you factor in the installation costs, ends up being much more expensive than investing in better lighting fixtures designed to last.

For the finish of standard, mass-produced fixtures, there is a choice of colors and finishes, which may vary from one product to another; please refer to each product's technical specifications to see the available choices.

As for the lighting color, it can be customized and controllable (or not) depending on the specific needs of each application. Some fixtures come with an adjustable color temperature (CTC), from warm white (3000K) to cool white (5000K), while others must be ordered with a predetermined color. Several types of light sources are available, and it is also possible to have RGB (RGB) or RGBW (RGBW) lights, which allow for color variation with different values ​​for Red, Green, Blue, and, in some cases, White. These color variations can be achieved with different control systems, such as DMX, DALI, and others, or directly using a joystick and/or buttons on the fixtures.

As with everything, there are several ranges of lighting products: "low-end" options, which are more likely to flicker, dim, weaken, overheat, break, or burn out more quickly; and "high-end" options, which will maintain a consistent level of illumination and last longer.

It's simple math: the choice of premium components (light source, electronic transformer, materials, hardware, heat sink, finish), more meticulous manufacturing methods, careful packaging, and the nature and duration of testing all impact the final selling price of the product.

The application, environment, and conditions of use also influence the cost. The more specific or demanding the conditions of use, the more expensive the light fixtures are to manufacture.

This question is very relative, as the answer depends on many factors, including the type of product, the quantity ordered, the specifications of the products ordered, the preferred shipping method, and so on. A standard product available in the local warehouse can be delivered very quickly, while a product designed for a specific application with custom specifications can take several weeks to manufacture.

Most of our products come with a 5-year limited warranty, some up to 10 years, offered by the manufacturer, against any manufacturing defects or technical failures, when installed according to standards and under appropriate operating conditions. In all cases, as with any other lighting or electronic device, the warranty covers the repair or replacement of the defective product only, and not the time spent removing, handling, transporting, reinstalling, or any consequential costs associated with the repair or replacement of the defective product.
